What, snow?????

The crazy Texas weather brought us snow! Maybe it wouldn't be THAT unusual if it weren't for the fact that we had almost 80 degree weather over the weekend! The kids were so excited, we have been talking about flying somewhere that has snow, just so they can see what it is all about. They were lucky enough to have it in their own backyard.

It was good "snowball" snow so Ethan and I had a great time having a snowball fight! As you can see I am a pretty good aim:) Addyson is not feeling well today so she unfortunately did not enjoy it to its full extent, but she did get out there long enough to get her hands cold:(

It was so nice to wake up to the white, it reminded me of so many days growing up in Colorado. I am glad that my kids were able to experience it too, even if for just one day.

Girls Gone Wild

We had our second annual girls weekend this past weekend and it was soooooo much fun! Friday our hubbys came home early and we loaded up(13 of us) and took off to the Embassy Suites in Dallas. We checked in, made ourselves pretty, and were off to dinner at Texas Land and Cattle. It is great because the hotel has a shuttle van that we can all pile into so we can ride together and we don't have to worry about getting lost. After dinner we went for a soak in the hot tub. It was so nice and very very relaxing! Then it was back to the room for games, talking, laughing, a little crying, some inappropriate bodily functions(you know who you are), and a lot more laughing! I felt like I was in high school again! A bunch of girls staying up late and eating lots of sugar can only lead to craziness. I was so in for it when I stayed up until the party died down at 4:45 a.m. only to wake up at 7:00 a.m. for another fun-filled day. Not to mention the hours of shopping in
Canton only to come home and head to work at the hospital unitl 3:00 a.m. What was I thinking!! I am hurting now but it was so worth it! I am so grateful for our group of girls. It is always nice to have that time to leave the kids home and just have a blast with great friends! Now a semi-annual girls weekend is in the works- we just can't get enough!

Roaming the halls in the wee hours of the morning in search of ice and water!
It is starting to get late!

The party is getting smaller, but with each passing hour a whole lot crazier!

Spooning time!
This is what happens when you only get 2 hours of sleep!

9-1-1

Ethan learned all about how to call 9-1-1 in an emergency today in preschool. After school we talked about what is an emergency and when we call 9-1-1. I thought that I had explained it pretty thoroughly. Well, Ethan picks up the phone and before I know it he is crying and the phone is ringing. Yea, he knew he did something wrong because he was scared. "Emergency Services is everything allright?" "Yes, my son just learned about 9-1-1 at school today, I am so sorry." They verified my information and hung up. I then had to go find Ethan, who was hiding a sobbing. Hopefully that scared him enough not to do it again.

Swimmer

Addyson found an old winter had in the top of her closet. She decided that it would be great for bathtime. She paired it with her neon green goggles and she was styling! Oh, the stuff that she puts in the bathtub!

The Cullens

My friend Melissa posted this picture on her blog and I had to steal it and have my say! First of all, I am excited that they are making a movie out of the book. Second of all, I am a little disappointed that Edward, Alice, Rosalie, and Jasper aren't better looking! Maybe what I imagined is just not realistic, but man I was hoping for Edward to be HOT! If you haven't read the Twilight series, you should! I don't love love them like most of friends, but I do think they are a good read and very interesting which makes me psyched for the movie!

Pajama day!

Today was a special day at Addyson's school because it was pajama day. All of the kindergarten kids got to wear their pajamas and slippers to school. Addyson was so excited, I know I love to spend the day in my pajamas! I ate lunch with her today and it was so fun to see all of the kids in their pajamas and robes. They had lots of fun activities planned and she even made her own nightcap! Sometimes I wish that I were in kindergarten again!

The FauxHawk

A couple of weeks ago I bought Ethan some really great hair gel (it's called SexyHair hard up gel) and he always wants his hair as spikey as I can get it. Today I thought that it would be fun if I gave him a fauxhawk.

Big Blue eyes

Well, I bought myself a new digital camera. I hated my old camera, all of the pictures turned out horrible and I never had any that I wanted to post on the blog. Poor Paige, she just doesn't have many pictures of herself. I plan to take a lot of pictures to make up for it! I got a Cannon powershot on Friday and I have had fun playing with it!

Finally she crawls!

I am so excited! Paige has finally decided that she wants to crawl. I was beginning to feel like it would never happen because I was so tired of carrying her around all day long. Now, all new doors have opened up for her and she is so entertained with all of her explorations!

Now I just need to be careful about what is on the floor. The other day Addyson and Ethan had just gotten finished eating some chocolate cake, and of course they got a bunch on the floor. I was busy putting laundrey in the dryer and she crawled from the other room to the kitchen where I found her under the table with chocolate cake all over her face. I am sad that I didn't get a picture, I hadn't gotten my new camera yet!

Body for life challenge

Okay, so a friend at work convinced me to enter the Body for Life challenge with her. She and I both had babies around the same time and need to trim up. She is going for the $20,000 prize, I am just going to see how much I can slim down. Dave and I did this program about 4 years ago and I stuck with it for 6 weeks and I liked the results. This is a picture of last years winner. My starting point is a little better than that so I guess it is possible for me to look like her, if I really follow it. I am going to spare everyone the before picture, but hey if I am looking that good after 12 weeks I may just have to post my after picture! Wish me luck!

Last night we had a great night with our awesome group of friends celebrating Valentines Day. We left the kids at home and had a blast playing games, eating junk, and, laughing as always! Kari, thanks so much for hosting and all of your cute decorations. Dave and I never miss an opportunity to get together with everyone because it is always loads of fun, and without the kids it makes us feel so young.

Our Men: Left to right Bruce, Rick, Robert, Billy, Dave, David, and Trevor

As the party winded down some of us couples played Guitar Heroes. Aprille and Tiare got a little into it!
A couple of weeks ago, some friends and I took our kids to the Dallas Children's Museum because there was no school. There were quite a lot of kids (not all of them are pictured) running a little crazy but they had a blast!

Ethan milking a cow. There were actually teets that squirted out water!

We Thank thee of God for a Prophet

Nissa, I hope that you don't mind me copying this picture from your blog, but I loved it. I love it because it is a portrayal of some of the great work that President Hinkley did as our Prophet! I know that so many peoples lives have been blessed because they have had temples built nearby. President Hinkley was really the only prophet that I remember but I grew to love him so much! I will miss hearing him speak in conference and enjoying his wonderful personality. I am grateful to be member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and to have a modern day Propet who speaks to God and gives us revelation. I know that it was a great reunion with his wife and eternal companion. For more information on this photo of President Hinkley visit Nissa-Lynn Parson's blo
I also had a friend send me a youtube clip of some photos of President Hinkley set to music. It will bring tears to your eyes. Enjoy

We had a wonderful Christmas with our little family. It is so much fun with the kids at this age, seeing the excitement on their faces when they wake up Christmas morning to all their presents. The best part is that they are so easy to please. I am excited for each new year we get to make Christmas memories. We had a fantastic time with friends on New Years Eve playing games and ringing in the New Year. I hope everyone is having a great start to the New Year!
